One Untamed Season.

Farming has run through our family for generations. This year we open our gates to plains game hunting — sharing the same beauty and peacefulness of nature we have always known.

Our Story

A Family Farm,
Reimagined

Farming has been in our family for generations — the same soil, the same wide Free State sky, passed down and cared for through the years. This year, we have opened a new chapter: our first plains game hunting adventure.

We have always admired the beauty and peacefulness of nature, and we built Morgenson Farm Hunting to give you that very same experience — unhurried, honest, and close to the land.

The Red Lechwe

Our main plains-game animal is the red lechwe, found across wetlands and floodplains. They carry a rich reddish-brown to golden chestnut coat, with white on the belly and throat, and striking black stripes down the front of their lower legs.

Long, wide hooves let them move easily across soft, muddy ground, where they graze on the lush aquatic and semi-aquatic grasses of the flooded zones — which is exactly what makes our farm such perfect habitat, with small streams running through the land and thick poplar bush where they retreat for safety.

Rich Coat

Reddish-brown to golden chestnut, with white on the belly and throat.

Lyre Horns

Graceful, lyre-shaped horns carried by the rams.

Larger Herds

Gather in larger herds across the wetland — a privilege to hunt.

Wet Plains

Wetlands and floodplains, with streams and poplar bush for cover.

“The Lechwe is a very elegant and graceful animal. They gather in larger herds — easy to spot, and a privilege to hunt.”

Our Philosophy

Hunted On Foot.
Respected Always.

We hold strong beliefs in protecting and respecting the environment. Hunters are only permitted on foot within the camp, or hunting from within our hides.

It is a quieter, more deliberate way to hunt: patient, on the animal's terms, within a landscape we have worked hard to keep untamed.
